Client Story

The Central Workforce Development Board (CWDB) consists of many different vehicles in their organization and they wanted to do a better job of communicating that to the public.

When you visited their old website, it was out-dated and confusing. Unless you were a team member or a board member who knew exactly what to look for, you wouldn’t have a clue what CWDB did.

We wanted to help them fix that.

What We Did

1) We started with a new domain name.

The organization had changed names, but the website address still reflected the old. We incorporated a new domain that would reflect all areas of organizations and regions covered under the umbrella of the Central Workforce Development Board, thus creating the Central Workforce Development Region.

2) We designed a new logo.

We incorporated the arrows into the logo to represent moving forward in all areas of business. Part of the Central Workforce Development Board umbrella includes Missouri Job Centers, and due to COVID-19, some of the way they do business in the future will change, which will continuously involve forward thinking. We wanted to reflect that the best way we could.

3) We designed a website everyone will benefit from.

We built a mobile and web-friendly website that was both simple, yet well-designed. At Orange Zebra Marketing, we use the “less is more” philosophy. When people visit your website, they don’t want a bunch of busy words and hoopla. We live in a busy culture where people just want to get to the point. We made the home page simple and straight to the point.

CWDB OLD

We provided a home page that was easy to understand for all users who may be visiting, whether that’s someone who has been recently unemployed due to COVID-19, an employer wanting to know more about the services CWDB can offer them through their various training programs, State Representatives wanting to know more about the labor market information, or one of the many board members seeking information.

NEW CWDB SITE

One of the Missouri Job Center staff members said of the new website:

This is exactly what we need. I love the layout, the functionality, the way you don’t have to scroll back up to the top to access another drop down. The lack of confusing terminology, and easy to read content. I look forward to seeing this grow.

4) More changes to come

We are still working with CWDB to make more changes to the website as time progresses, including adding a blog, virtual job workshops, a messaging board, and more.

We are so excited about the turnout of this project!
